The legs of the lingerie chest are made of walnut to match the drawer fronts. They are simply two pairs of legs mortise and tenoned to a connecting rail. The legs are the height of the bottom drawer. Holes were drilled into the rails so that they can be screwed into the base of the chest. I wanted them to be removable so that I could take them off if we ever move house to prevent the legs from getting damaged.
