Here are the final stages of my side-table build. Before the final glue-up, I tapered the leg-bottoms using the No. 8 plane and softened the sharp edges with a spokeshave in order to give them a more delicate (rather than stout) shape.
The glue-up was straight forward (but clamp intensive!) and preceded a couple of coats of light oil-based stain.
The side table project is at an end. It feels good that this piece is done – having an unfinished project was irritating after a while not only because it takes up space in the shop/house, but because I lost steam with ideas. I’ll definitely spend a little more time in the design phase in the future.
